Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Lussavara collects through this website and your account area, why we collect it, who sees it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Lussavara Company Limited ("Lussavara", "we", "us"), Ubungo Plaza, 1st Floor, Ubungo, Dar es Salaam, P.O Box 35980, Tanzania, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@lussavara.co.tz or +255 769 284 111.

2. What we collect

We collect only what you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical data:

  • Quote, contact and cart requests: your name, phone number and/or email, company, location, project details, the products you selected, and (if you attach files) the names of those files.
  • Newsletter and workshop sign-ups: your email address, and your name and company if you give them.
  • Your account: your name, email address and password, and the requests, messages and issues you create in your account area.
  • Ratings and favourites: the products you favourite and any rating or comment you submit.
  • Messages sent by WhatsApp, phone or email: whatever you send us, and your phone number or email address.
  • Technical data: like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may record your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in server logs.

We do not take payments on the Site and never ask for card or mobile-money PINs through it.

3. Information stored on your device

Some features keep data in your browser's local storage on your own device so they work between visits: your cart, your favourites and ratings, your sign-in session and account details, and the requests and issues shown in your account area. Clearing your browser data removes them. You can also remove saved requests and issues from My Account → Settings.

At present the Site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The Contact page embeds a Google Map, and some pages link to YouTube; when you load or use those third-party services they may set their own cookies under their own policies.

4. How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiries, prepare quotations and BOQs, and arrange site visits, supply and delivery.
  • To run your account and show you the progress of your requests.
  • To provide support and deal with issues you raise.
  • To send you newsletters or safety bulletins if you asked for them (you can opt out at any time).
  • To keep the Site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We rely on your consent (for example for the newsletter), on the need to deal with your request or perform a contract with you, on our legitimate interest in running and securing our business, and on legal obligations, in line with the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of Tanzania.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • service providers who help us run the Site and communicate with you (for example website hosting, email delivery and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp), who may only use it for those purposes;
  • manufacturers, suppliers, transporters or subcontractors, where needed to fulfil your order or project;
  • professional advisers, and authorities or courts where the law requires it.

6. Transfers outside Tanzania

Some of our service providers (such as hosting and messaging platforms) may process information outside Tanzania. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected.

7. How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for a reasonable period so we can follow up; order, invoice and project records are kept for the period required by tax, accounting and contractor-registration rules; newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No online service is completely secure, so please choose a strong, unique password, do not share it, and sign out on shared devices.

9. Your rights and choices

Subject to the law, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong or out of date;
  • delete your information, or restrict or object to how we use it;
  • stop sending you marketing — use the unsubscribe option or contact us; and
  • withdraw consent you have given, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email info@lussavara.co.tz. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you may also complain to Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Commission.

10. Children

The Site is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make significant changes we will highlight them on the Site.
